Principle of lip enhancement with hyaluronic acid
The application of hyaluronic acid is a very simple and fast way to increase the volume of lips or reshape their contours. This treatment can also remove wrinkles above the upper lip or raise loose corners of the mouth. This technique can also correct distortions of the lips caused by accidents or congenital defects.
Hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally occurring in the body, is applied to the lips as a gel. The effect is apparent immediately and usually lasts 6 to 12 months.
Before the treatment
Before the treatment, we recommend first consulting a physician at our clinic. Here clients discuss their expectations for the results of lip enhancement with a physician and schedule a date for the treatment.
During the treatment
Lip enhancement is provided as an outpatient service and takes approximately 30 minutes. The first step is local anaesthesia (similar to dental treatments). After numbing, the physician injects the hyaluronic acid gel directly into the lips with a very thin needle. The lips swell slightly during treatment. Clients can go home immediately afterwards.
After the treatment
Immediately after the treatment, some swelling remains; minor reddening and bruising caused by the injections may also appear. Local anaesthesia wears off in a few hours, swelling within the next 2 days and any bruises in 5 days. It is recommended that patients refrain from wearing make-up until the next day.
Who can be treated?
